A partition theorem for perfect sets
ABSTRACT: Let P be a perfect subset of the real line, and let the n-element subsets of P be partitioned into finitely many classes, each open (or just Borel) in the natural topology on the collection of such subsets. Then P has a perfect subset whose n-element subsets lie in at most (n-1)! of the classes.

On the Chromatic Number of Graphs and Set Systems

Hajnal is a wonderful man. I learned axiomatic set theory from him at Rutgers. It was then that I began really studying Ramsey theory and became fascinated with the partition calculus he and Erdős invented. I had to keep checking their book out of the library every two weeks and it became annoying, so I asked him whether I could borrow a copy. He just *gave* me his copy of Partition Relations for Cardinals and I've slept with it under my pillow ever since.
