Happy Valentine's Day

A Haitian man walks past a barricade in Port-au-Prince February 13, 2006. Smoke from burning tires rose over the capital of Port-au-Prince from impromptu barricades as suspicions spread among protesting former President Rene Preval supporters that the count was being tampered with to stop the one-time ally of ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide from winning a first-round victory.

I ran my race up the Terminal Tower on Saturday morning. I was a little nervous, since I hadn't really trained too much for it. But I did very well, in my estimation. The stairwell was not overly spacious, so to prevent too much pileup one runner was sent up every 20 seconds. No one passed me on the way up, and I passed about 30 people. I had no idea what to expect, so I told myself to be pleased if I finished in less than 20 minutes. I finished in about 9 minutes.
