The above photo displays the time from when the gun went off to start the race. Most people don't cross the starting line for a few minutes because there are so many people. Thankfully, it's all done electronically with timing chips, so no one has to figure all that stuff out.

I was fairly stressed out for the week before the race, but on race day itself everything went amazingly smoothly. Everything was perfect through mile 14. I got a bit tired around mile 15. My ankles kind of revolted around mile 18 and I slowed down. I never felt exhausted, just a lot of ankle and foot pain. I felt great when I was through, amazingly. I'm also confident I can shave 20 to 40 minutes off my time with no problem: now that I know I can run a marathon, I can seriously push myself without too much fear.

There's no way I could have done it without Kendra and Brandon in Cincinnati. They put Laura and me up in their house, drove us around everywhere, and cheered me on at several spots in the race. If I had had to get a hotel room and do everything myself like my first half-marathon, I'm not sure I would have been up for it. So thanks again Kendra and Brandon.

I'll post some more about the whole thing when I get some time this weekend, I think.
